Researchers decided to test if HIIT could reverse biological ageing in 30 middle-aged non-exercisers (20 women, 10 men).

For 4 weeks, the HIIT group hit the gym three times a week, doing short bursts of intense exercise. Another group of people were monitored and were asked to do absolutely nothing.
